This online course will help you understand the importance of internal audit as well as the role of the auditor. We look at the skills and traits essential for any auditor, as well as how to carry out an audit and how to complete the reporting process.

While the auditing process is a legal requirement it should also be seen by your team as a process of continuous improvement and a way to achieve higher standards and reducing waste.

By undertaking the training and the activities within the module, learners have the tools needed to effectively carry out an audit and close off any actions within this. On some of the activities they are given links to auditing templates, but they are encouraged to use their own in-house paperwork where at all possible.

To gain the most benefit from the course, it is recommended that the activities undertaken are discussed with their own experienced internal audit team or senior auditor to confirm their understanding in relation to in-house practices.
