Interesting Trends in Competency Management

At our recent webinar Going Online: Capability & Competence, we explored some of the themes for ensuring a successful move online with any competency management system. It was a very popular webinar and the feedback from the polls showed some interesting insights that we feel are reflective of much of our customer base just now:

Firstly, many organisations have a competency management system in place, perhaps paper based and they want to move it online or perhaps online but they are not happy with how it works. For the majority of people that we talk to just now, they would also fall into the highest percentage category below: “Going through a transition”.

Secondly, there has been a change in competency management strategy in recent years, moving away from focusing only on assessment but now also integrating a training programme, usually including on the job training, alongside assessment as part of the competency management strategy. This is reflected in the poll answers below:
